I hate how guys are always made out to be the bad one in the relationship. I always hear girls say that guys don’t care as much as girls, but that’s extremely wrong. Whenever I like a girl, I care about her. A lot. And not because I like her. I care about her because she’s a person. I just wish girls can see that not all guys are the same.

Guys are under pressure as much as girls are. We have to be athletic, fighters, insensitive and sensitive at the same time. We have to like sports and know all about cars. We have to play an instrument, preferably a guitar. We have to have a six-pack and look like Hollister models. We have to do exactly what girls want when they want or else we’re jerks. We have to be able to fight and win. We’re not allowed to cry or watch romantic movies on our own. We have to know how to fix anything and everything. We have to be chivalrous but treat women like equals. We have to tell every single girl she’s beautiful know what they’re thinking. Guys get put under the microscope as much as girls do.

I don’t want a relationship that lasts a month or two, or maybe even a year. I want something REAL. I want a girl who’s my best friend first. Not just a girlfriend. I want her to have the same beliefs as me and be straightedge. I want her to be adventurous or I want to spark her adventurous side. I want a girl who doesn’t have to see me every day. I don’t want to be first in her life. There are other, more important people who should go before me. I want to sit in Barnes and Noble for hours with her. I want to watch scary movies with her. I want to read the same books so we can talk about it when we’re done. I want to picnic in the park at night time. I want to sit on the rocks by the bay for hours and take dozens of pictures. I want to deactivate our Facebooks so everyone knows about us only by seeing us together. I want to get her on roller coasters and spend days at Sea Side. I want to do cheesy things for her attention. Give me that and I’ll be good.
